I'm very proud of my Basenjis, and our show accomplishments, they are truly my lifes joys. Here is a list of my Basenji and those I have previously owned, Basenjis which I have breed, and those Basenjis I had a special relationship with.
Am. Can. Ch. Amun C-Zara, Bred by Jaq and Judy Lange she is my second Basenji, she was born 12-28-83 and enjoying her old age. I'm currently working on her Campanion Dog obedience title. C-Zara shown as veteran, just under 13 years of age
Ch. Jumoke's Ku'uakua Ku'umalo, (9.8k image) My first home bred champion, first Basenji I showed to a group placement, first Basenji which I breed to appear in the top 10, though he did not finish a year in the top 10, it was special to me. Ku Bear to the right of his brother Moke. (32.1k image)
Am. Can. Ch. Jumoke's Moke Ahi, (28.7k image) Now owned by George Woodard, Baru Basenjis. Moke is known as the "Moot Monster" by the kids he plays with, also known as the "Moke the Mouth" (41k wav file) because of his loud and frequent baarrrooo's. He has one of those very special personalities which makes you laugh and enjoy his presence and devotion. Moke to the right of his brother Ku Bear. (32.1k image)
Ch. Anasazi Chatelaine Du'Sienji, (24.0k image) Breed by Sheila H. Smith and Sheila Ann Frost. Saintly was offered to me when Sheila Smith retired from breeding, she can be considered the foundation of my breeding program. Born 12-9-85, Saintly is enjoying the benefits of retirement, now owned by George Woodard, Baru Basenjis, She is one very happy basenji (41k wav file).
Ch. Baru South'n Belle of Jumoke, (52.5k image) One of Saintly's kids, Belle is cherished for couch potato way of life. Simi-retired with her new owners in Alaska. Special thanks to George Woodard for showing her to third 3 point major and finishing her title.
Ch. Baru Midnight Special SC, (34.2k image) Owned and bred by George Woodard, Baru Basenjis. I showed Mini to some of her championship points or you may say she showed me, she is a spirited Basenji, and always willing to make a fool of humans. George Woodard earned several of her points, and continues to show her as a special, earning several Best of Breeds.
Ch. Jumoke's Red Vixen SC, (28.8k image) Owned by George Woodard, Baru Basenjis. Vixen has the mentality of her mom, Saintly, easy going, never too excited, which posses a showing problem. She finish her title while she was still young and excitable, thank goodness. George showed her to a few of her minor points, but with her attitude, it was I that seemed to be able to get her up for showing. Vixen had her first litter in 1995 at four years of age, producing one puppy, sired by Ch. Jumokes Arazi Re. Wanda puppy , registered as Baru Wanda Be Kind of Jumoke and is looking foward to show debut. (25.8k image)
States Ch. Jumoke's White Lightning JC, "Flash" finished his States Championship in Alaska, shown by his previous owner Cindy Brietengross. Unfortunately, during his obedience and conformation training classes, he was displined hashly, and inappropriately, by the instructor resulting in a very serious fear of strangers, especially women. Since his return, he has came to trust the people he meets at my home, but will never be shown again. He is an example of how little some so called "professional trainers" know about Basenjis and their behavior patterns.
Ch. Jumoke's Moonshiner (1.6k text, 96.8k with images) Shiner is my pride and joy of the show ring, he loves to strut his stuff. He is the first Basenji I have breed to finish in the top 10, ranked number 5 in Basenjis defeted and Best of Breeds for 1993, and I suspect miss making the 1994 Top 10 by not much. I think 1995 will be his best year yet, even though he missed the first part due to a injury. Shiner is the only Basenji I have had professionally handled on occasions, but many of his significant placements have been while I was handling. Co-owned by George Woodard, Baru Basenjis. Shiner is showered with attention.
Ch.Prodlaan Jumoke Odinn Terra JC, (14.7k image) Owned by Juannita Quiban, shown to her championship by Laura Pond, Prodlaan Basenjis, Terra is one of three in her litter, my first litter representing three generations of Jumoke Basenjis.
Ch. Jumoke's Loose Caboose, (32.9k image) Named for her skills of escaping. The owner of the her sir, Joanne Finlaid, Jamila Basenjis, felt she should have been named Jumoke's Caboose on the loose, but the suggestion call too late. Caboose does not know she is a Basenji. Endless in play, eager to please, and always rolling over on her back for a belly scratch from even the strangest of strangers. I don't think she cares about such Basenjis things as dignity, and ego.
Ch. Jumoke's Arazi Re, Arazi is the spitting image of Moke, in nature and simular in apperance. Keep your eyes open for him in the Breed competition. Earning several Best of Breeds from the classes, Breeder Judge Geraldine Crandell stated something to the effect of, "A well balanced Basenji, ideal in size and substance, built to move the way Basenjis should."
The following Basenjis are those I have shown, but are owned and or bred by some of my friends. Basenjis which I have built a special relationship with.
Ch. Sonshine Brennan-mor JC, Owned by Maripat Webber, Ben has been shown by many handlers, but I taught him to free stack, and he learn it very will. When I see him, he still expects to find bait in my pocket, and if I have none, I'm ignored, as if I did something wrong.
Ch. Bordeaux Sarah Barra, (49.6k image) I showed Sarah to Best of Breed at the Western Gazehound Association speciality show. I have a great appreciation of Sarah, as such, that I leased her for a litter, producing Caboose, Arazi, and Precious who needs 9 points including a major to finish her championship.
Ch. Prodlaan Treasure, Owned by Mona Jones, Tia was fun to show, and did quite well for me. She to this day reminds me alot of Vixen.
Ch. Quita's Royal Tokka Akuba JC, Owned by Laurie Montgomery, Quita Basenjis. In need of his last major, I had the honor of finishing him. Tokka, also know to me as Tokka Aroma, was the frist Basneji I taught to leap into my arms.
